Warehouse & Security Assistant Location: Wolverhampton
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm and weekends available
Pay Rate: £12.71per hour
Warehouse & Security AssistantPertemps are currently recruiting for a Warehouse & Security Assistant to join a busy operation in Wolverhampton. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity for someone who is reliable, organised and comfortable working across both warehouse and site security duties.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the warehouse while helping to maintain a safe and secure working environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSecurity & Site Duties
Opening and securing the site in accordance with company procedures.
Managing visitor access, including signing visitors and contractors in and out.
Checking identification where required.
Maintaining site security records and reporting any issues or incidents.
Monitoring site security systems and responding to issues appropriately.
Liaising with external monitoring services when required.
Controlling the movement of goods and materials around the site.
Handling secure waste in accordance with company procedures.
Maintaining clean, tidy and secure external and internal areas.
Supporting security checks and audit activities.
Assisting with emergency procedures and fire safety duties where required.
Warehouse Duties
Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
Checking incoming goods against delivery paperwork.
Reporting any discrepancies or damaged goods.
Booking goods into the warehouse system accurately.
Storing stock in the correct locations and maintaining accurate records.
Picking and issuing materials to production areas as required.
Following stock rotation procedures.
Maintaining a clean, organised and secure warehouse.
Managing quarantined or restricted stock in accordance with procedures.
Moving stock safely using appropriate equipment.
Collecting and disposing of general waste.
Assisting with pallet collection and disposal.
Collecting and storing finished goods and other stock.
Assisting with picking, packing, labelling and despatch of goods.
Ensuring warehouse paperwork is completed accurately.
Supporting general warehouse and site duties as required.
The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will have:
Previous warehouse experience.
A valid forklift licence.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills.
Basic computer skills and the ability to use warehouse systems.
A reliable and motivated approach to work.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A strong awareness of Health & Safety and site security procedures.
The ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise tasks.
Previous experience in a security or facilities environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
