Job Overview

We are recruiting for a reliable School Cleaner to join the site team at a thriving secondary school in Preston. This is a permanent, part-time position offering 25 hours per week at a competitive rate of £14.00 per hour (PAYE).

The role is ideal for someone looking for a steady routine within the education sector who takes pride in maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for students and staff.

Working Hours (Split Shift)

This position requires a 5-day working week (Monday to Friday) following a split-shift pattern:

Morning Shift: 06:00am - 08:30am

Afternoon Shift: 14:30pm - 17:00pm

Key Responsibilities

General Cleaning: Ensure classrooms, corridors, staff rooms, and communal areas are cleaned to a high standard.

Sanitisation: Thoroughly clean and disinfect washrooms and replenish essential supplies (soap, paper towels).

Floor Care: Perform dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing as required.

Waste Management: Empty bins and ensure the safe disposal of all waste products.

COSHH Compliance: Safely store and utilise cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

Punctuality: You must be reliable and able to commit to the early morning and afternoon start times.

Experience: Previous commercial or school cleaning experience is highly desirable but not essential.

Safeguarding: An Enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this role. If you are not on the Update Service, we can assist with your application.

Diligence: A keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
