School Chef - Full Time Contract - Paid Weekly

Interaction Recruitment are working with an independent school based in Oakham where we have 7 Chefs working on a full time basis via the agency and paid weekly. We’re now increasing our team by 2 additional Chefs to start ASAP.

Pay rate is £18.36 per hour PAYE + holiday pay at 12.07%. There is a 30-minute break deduction per shift.

Role:

You will work in a team of up to 15 Chefs depending on which kitchen you are allocated however, you’ll likely stay in the same kitchen on an ongoing basis.

You will be responsible, along with your team mates to prepare meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner service between 60 and 1000 children.

Your rota will be made up of 1 long day 06:30-19:00 and 4 short days 06:30-14:00 or 12:00-19:00 5 out of 7 days per week. You will be allocated a Friday and Saturday off or a Sunday and Monday off each week. You will receive your rota for the following week Tuesday or Wednesday. You will therefore work c.41.5 hours per week. We have had Chefs work at the school for several months, this is an ongoing contract, if you are looking for stability, we could offer permanent contracts after a qualifying period.

As this is an independent school,  all Chefs are required to have an enhanced DBS either part of the update service or a cleared enhanced DBS completed by Interaction Recruitment.

Applicants:

Will complete an Interaction Recruitment enhanced DBS upon registration
Must have full UK Right to Work
Shall drive and have access to a reliable vehicle
Should be reliable, punctual, professional and presentable
Can work part of a small or larger team of Chefs and General Assistants
Must be a qualified and/or time served Chef with evidence of Food Hygiene / Food Allergens training
Ideally a Sous Chef with independent or public school experience
Will have fresh produce experience
Should have the ability to work as the only Chef if required
Shall reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Oakham LE15
