Complete Classroom Services is currently recruiting an experienced School Caretaker to support a school in the Cambridge (CB24) area. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual who takes pride in maintaining safe, secure, and well-presented school premises.
We are looking for a hands-on and dependable professional with previous caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or site management experience who can contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the school.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Opening and closing the school site, ensuring buildings are secure at all times.
*
Carrying out routine site inspections and health & safety checks.
*
Performing minor repairs, maintenance, decorating, and general DIY tasks.
*
Conducting weekly fire alarm tests and maintaining accurate records.
*
Monitoring emergency exits, lighting, heating, and water systems.
*
Supporting compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, and site security procedures.
*
Ensuring the school grounds, classrooms, communal areas, and external spaces are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
*
Coordinating deliveries and distributing items to the appropriate departments.
*
Liaising with contractors and supervising works carried out on site.
*
Assisting with room setups for assemblies, events, examinations, and school functions.
*
Monitoring stock levels and ordering maintenance and cleaning supplies when required.
*
Reporting maintenance issues and supporting planned preventative maintenance activities.
*
Supporting the wider school team to ensure a safe and positive learning environment for pupils and staff.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
*
Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Supervisor, Facilities Assistant, Premises Officer, or similar role.
*
Good practical maintenance and DIY skills.
*
Knowledge of health & safety procedures and site compliance.
*
Experience carrying out fire alarm checks and routine building inspections.
*
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
*
Strong communication and organisational skills.
*
A proactive and professional approach to work.
*
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to pay for a new DBS)
