This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join their Trading team as a Sales Trading Assistant, offering full training, long-term development, and the chance to build a career in a specialist and fast-moving industry.
The Role – Trading Assistant / Trainee Trader
* Reporting directly to the Head of Trading, you will play a key support role within the busy Trading department. Your responsibilities will include:
* Monitoring and maintaining metal positions in real time
* Assisting with daily reconciliation of trading P&L
* Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
* Handling customer enquiries with professionalism and confidence
* Engaging in retail sales of bullion products
* Supporting the trading team with administrative and operational tasks
* Learning the fundamentals of precious metal trading, with structured on-the-job training provided
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), ideally in Economics, Mathematics or a related field
* Interest or knowledge in commodity trading and/or small-scale engineering/manufacturing (advantageous)
* Ability to work independently, use initiative, and generate ideas
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience with Sage products (Sage 200 in particular) would be an advantage
* A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn—full training is provided
