The Role

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Sales Team Manager to lead and support a busy sales and delivery team. This is a fast-paced operational role requiring strong leadership, excellent organisation, and the ability to motivate a team while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will be proactive, dependable, and capable of leading by example. They will take ownership of team performance, support day-to-day operations, and contribute to the continued success and growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and support a team of 18 sales staff, ensuring punctuality, professionalism, and performance standards are maintained

* Conduct daily team briefings and end-of-day debriefs

* Learn and understand delivery routes and build strong relationships with customers

* Provide cover for delivery routes when required at short notice

* Monitor sales performance and customer retention

* Ensure compliance with company procedures, health & safety regulations, and road safety standards

* Manage staff attendance, holidays, and absence using the Timenet system

* Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of the sales team

* Act as a key holder for the business premises

* Handle customer and employee complaints professionally and effectively

* Maintain clear communication with senior management, colleagues, and customers

* Use company-issued mobile phone responsibly for business purposes only

Essential Requirements

* Full UK driving licence

* Proven people management and leadership experience

* Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Experience using card payment systems and related technology

* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

* Strong customer service background

* Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy w

* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use initiative

* Good literacy and numeracy skills
