About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Sales and Estimating Engineer to join our growing team. This is a highly flexible role, designed to make full use of your technical knowledge and industry experience to help drive the company’s continued success.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, and ensuring our costings and quotations are both competitive and commercially sound.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new customers while managing the needs of existing clients.
Prepare detailed costings and quotations for incoming enquiries, ensuring the most cost-efficient manufacturing methods are applied.
Conduct customer visits and provide follow-up reports to share insights with the wider team.
Source and evaluate new suppliers and materials to enhance production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Participate actively in regular/monthly sales meetings.
Collaborate with production to identify the most efficient manufacturing processes.
Contribute to strategic decisions on future equipment investment and production improvements.
Support management with ad hoc projects where your expertise can add value.
About You
You’ll be a proactive individual with a strong technical or engineering background and a flair for commercial thinking. You’ll enjoy combining hands-on estimating with customer-facing activity, balancing attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture.
Essential skills and qualities:
Proven experience in sales, estimating, or engineering within a manufacturing or technical environment.
Strong communication and relationship management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Commercial awareness and a drive to identify new business opportunities.
