Rotherham Council - Kinship Care Assessor (Fostering Service)
Full-Time | Hybrid | 4-Month Contract (with possible extension)
Rotherham Council is looking for an experienced Kinship Care Assessor to join their Local Authority Fostering Service. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will complete Form K kinship care assessments and present these to Fostering Panel. Applicants with previous experience using Form C assessments will also be considered.
You will complete assessments both within and outside the local authority, depending on the location of kinship carers.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete full Form K assessments for kinship carers
Carry out all statutory requirements, including checks, references, and home visits
Attend placement planning meetings and support locality teams with initial viability visits
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
Independently manage workload and deadlines
Work collaboratively within a busy fostering team
Attend and contribute to meetings relating to allocated casesExperience Required:
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Social Worker within Children's and Young People's Services
BA in Social Work
Experience completing Form K or Form C assessments and presenting to Fostering Panel
Strong communication skills and ability to work flexibly depending on service needsContract Details:
Initial 4-month contract, with potential extension for a further 4 months

Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
At least 3 years' experience as a Social Worker within Children's Services
Social Work England Registration
