What you’ll be getting stuck into as a Retail Butcher
Preparing and portioning chicken, lamb and pork to high retail standards
Serving customers at the counter, providing advice and tailored cuts
Maintaining clean, safe and well-organised preparation and display areas
Keeping counters, cabinets and fridges well stocked and attractively presented
Supporting daily operations alongside the Head Butcher and wider team
Assisting with additional meat processing when required at the nearby unit
What you’ll bring to the table as a Retail Butcher
Previous experience preparing fresh meat within a butchery environment
Strong knife skills and knowledge of meat cuts and preparation techniques
Experience working on a retail meat counter or in customer-facing butchery
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe meat handling practices
Ability to maintain product quality and presentation in a busy shop setting
Working hours
45–50 hours per week, typically between 6:00am – 7:30pm across rotating early and late shifts.
