To provide consistent care, guidance, and support to children and young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD) in a safe, nurturing residential environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, child-centred care in line with individual care and behaviour management plans.
Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage growth, independence, and resilience.
Support with daily routines including personal care, education, recreational activities, and life skills.
Use de-escalation and positive behaviour management strategies to manage challenging behaviour.
Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and logs in line with Ofsted and organisational requirements.
Contribute to team meetings, care planning, and multi-agency working.
Help maintain a safe, structured, and homely environment.
Requirements
Experience working with children/young people with EBD and/or LD (desirable).
Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and behaviour management.
Compassionate, resilient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (where applicable).
Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already held).
