Full-Time, Permanent
Are you a detail-driven quality professional with a passion for engineering? We're looking for a Quality Engineer to support an innovative manufacturing site in the Glasgow region, contributing to high-integrity projects in the defence and commercial sectors.
You'll be part of a dedicated team ensuring that every process, product, and partnership meets exacting technical, regulatory, and customer standards. This is a role that blends operational insight with technical oversight — and where your input directly impacts real-world performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
*
Collaborate closely with teams across engineering, production, procurement, and project delivery to embed quality at every stage.
*
Support the development of quality strategies, inspection and test protocols, and assurance plans tailored to specific projects.
*
Conduct audits internally and across the supply chain to maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and client requirements.
*
Investigate and resolve quality issues using structured root cause analysis and corrective action methods.
*
Oversee and verify quality documentation, including inspection reports, certifications, and improvement actions.
*
Attend product inspections and test events, both on-site and occasionally at vendor or customer locations.
*
Work proactively with stakeholders to capture lessons learned and drive performance improvements.
What You Bring
*
A solid foundation in quality and engineering, supported by a technical qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience.
*
Strong knowledge of quality systems, particularly ISO 9001, with experience leading or supporting formal audits.
*
Ability to interpret engineering drawings (mechanical and/or electrical).
*
Comfortable using MS Office tools, and ideally experienced with ERP/MRP or quality management software
*
Awareness of documentation and certification practices in regulated environments
*
A methodical approach, confident communication style, and the ability to manage tasks independently and on time.
Who You Are
*
Naturally inquisitive with a strong focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
*
Experience of working within the defence sector
*
Professional, self-motivated, and comfortable in both collaborative and autonomous roles.
*
Committed to upholding high safety and quality standards — even under pressure.
*
Able to work across departments and build strong working relationships.
*
UK citizen, eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC) due to the nature of certain contracts.
