About the Role
We are looking for a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Maths & English Tutor to join our team in Wigan. This is a flexible, part-time role offering GBP30 per hour minimum, with the potential to increase based on your availability. You will be working with students who have high Special Educational Needs (SEN), so a confident approach to building relationships and managing challenging behaviours is essential.
Sessions will be held during school hours and can take place in school, at the students home, or online. The position is for approximately 20 hours per week, with the potential for more hours depending on availability and student needs.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver personalised Maths and English lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
Work with students with high SEN needs, fostering a positive learning environment and helping them build confidence.
Effectively manage challenging behaviours, using strategies that are both supportive and proactive.
Track student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and relevant staff members.
Develop and implement individualised lesson plans, adapting your approach as needed to support each student's unique learning style.
Essential Requirements
You MUST hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) this is a non-negotiable requirement for this role.
Experience teaching or tutoring Maths and English at either primary or secondary level.
Strong confidence in supporting students with high SEN needs and managing challenging behaviours.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
You must be cleared to work with children (DBS check required).
References from your last two years of employment will be requested.
