Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable, hands-on experience before pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Mental Health, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Teaching?
Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with several specialist SEN schools across East Kent, so we're looking for enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated Psychology graduates to join our team as Teaching Assistants on both full-time and part-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to apply your knowledge of child development, behaviour and mental health while making a genuine difference to the lives of young people with additional needs.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
ADHD
Speech, Language and Communication Needs
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties
Complex additional needsYou'll provide both academic and pastoral support, helping students to build confidence, develop social and emotional skills, improve communication and achieve their learning goals.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting students in the classroom on a 1:1 and small group basis
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Helping pupils develop social interaction and communication skills
Assisting with classroom activities and differentiated learning
Building positive relationships with pupils, teachers and families
Working alongside experienced SEN professionals and therapistsWe're Looking For
A degree in Psychology (or a related subject)
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, resilience and a positive attitude
Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults is desirable but not essentialWhat We Offer
