About the Role – Engineering Supervisor (Dayshift) Help keep Glasgow moving. We’re seeking a proactive, hands-on Engineering Supervisor to join our team at the Glasgow depot. In this key role, you’ll be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing engineering team, overseeing both scheduled and reactive maintenance, and ensuring all vehicles meet regulatory and safety standards.
You’ll play a vital part in maintaining vehicle availability and service reliability, while also supporting stock control and warranty processes. With full PPE and tools provided, this is an opportunity to step into a leadership role where your expertise and direction make a real difference every day.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee fleet maintenance and servicing in partnership with the Engineering Manager
Recruit, induct, and develop a motivated and high-performing engineering team
Plan and allocate both scheduled and unscheduled work, including managing short-notice absences
Ensure vehicle availability aligns with operational requirements
Support effective stock management and the accurate, timely processing of warranty claims
Maintain precise records relating to engineering standards, performance, fleet, and environmental management
Manage disciplinary, grievance, and absence reviews in line with company policy
Work closely with depot operational and engineering colleagues to manage service delivery, including vehicle allocation, breakdowns, changeovers, punctuality, and reliability
About You
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
Strong knowledge of workshop safety and prior supervisory experience
Well organised with good IT skills
Full, clean UK driving licence (PCV licence desirable but not essential)
Right to work in the UK
