SALARY: £55,000 – £60,000 + Bonus & Benefits

We are recruiting a Product Development Manager, for Origin, an established UK manufacturer specialising in pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging. This Product Development Manager position will focus on developing and manufacturing innovative packaging solutions for customers across global markets.

As Product Development Manager, you’ll lead the R&D process for new product and packaging development projects from initial customer brief through design, development, trials, testing and validation to manufacturing readiness. Working closely with the Sales team, customers and manufacturing, the Product Development Manager will translate commercial requirements and product design briefs into technically robust, manufacturable products.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NPD Manager, Product Development Manager or packaging development professional within an R&D function who enjoys developing new products, solving technical challenges and working cross-functionally to take ideas from concept through to production.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

* Translate customer and internal product design briefs into technical specifications, development plans and clear project requirements.

* Work closely with Sales and customers to understand requirements and develop commercially viable new product and packaging solutions.

* Lead NPD projects through design, development, sampling, trials, testing and validation through to manufacturing readiness.

* Coordinate projects across manufacturing, quality, regulatory, procurement, suppliers and commercial teams.

* Interpret technical and trial data, resolve development challenges and maintain specifications, test reports and supporting NPD documentation.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

* Proven experience in new product development (NPD), product development or packaging development within a manufacturing environment.

* Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, product specifications and testing methods.

* Experience taking new products from initial concept and design brief through development, testing and validation into manufacture.

* Strong communication and commercial awareness, with the ability to work effectively with Sales, customers and technical stakeholders.

* A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership of multiple product development projects and drive them forward.
