About the Role
We are seeking a caring, committed SEN Teaching Assistant with experience in providing personal care to join our specialist school in Sheffield (S2). This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
You will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and personal development, ensuring their dignity and individual needs are always met.
Key Responsibilities
Provide learning support on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Support pupils with personal care needs, including toileting and hygiene, in a sensitive and respectful manner
Assist with mobility, feeding, and physical needs where required
Support pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development
Help implement EHCP targets and personalised support plans
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
Maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience working with children or young people with SEN
Proven experience supporting personal care needs
A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build trusting and positive relationships with pupils
Relevant SEN qualifications or care-related experience (desirable but not essential)
