Hourly Rate: GBP30 per hour
Average Hours: 20 hours per week

Role Overview:
Are you passionate about helping students who have been disengaged from school? Do you have a strong desire to guide and support young people in finding their way back into education? This part-time Youth Mentor role in St. Helens could be the perfect opportunity for you!

The role focuses on working with students who may have struggled to stay in school or have been out of education for some time. As a Youth Mentor, your primary responsibility will be to guide and support these students back into school life, helping them regain confidence, motivation, and a sense of purpose in their education. Alongside this, you will also support them with Maths and English tuition to help them get back on track academically.

Key Responsibilities:

Mentor students to help them re-engage with education and transition back into school life.

Provide Maths and English support, tailored to each students individual needs.

Foster a positive, supportive relationship with students to build trust and motivation.

Work collaboratively with school staff to monitor progress and address any challenges.

Develop personalised action plans to support the students' academic and social development.

Help students with emotional and behavioural difficulties, providing a safe and encouraging environment for learning.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a mentoring, youth work, or educational setting.

Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or those who have been disengaged from education.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students and staff.

A proactive and empathetic approach to working with students who may face challenges in their education.

Ideally, availability for at least 3 days a week.

Additional Information:

The role is part-time, with an average of 20 hours per week.

The hourly rate is GBP30, and the work will take place during school hours (9 AM to 3 PM).
