Veritas Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Lancaster for a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support their Nursery Class.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA or Early Years practitioner who is passionate about supporting young children during the crucial early stages of their education.
Position Details
Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Nursery Class
Location: Lancaster
Start Date: September 2026
Hours:
Thursday afternoons
Fridays (full day)
Contract: Part-time, term-time only
Sector: Primary Education / Early Years
The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the Nursery team to provide high-quality learning experiences, support children's development, and help create a nurturing and engaging learning environment. Duties may include leading small groups, supporting planned activities, covering lessons where required, and contributing to children's progress and wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
HLTA status or equivalent relevant qualifications/experience
Previous experience working within an Early Years or Primary setting
A strong understanding of the EYFS framework
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A positive, proactive and flexible approach
A passion for helping children achieve their full potential
