Part-Time Accountant, AAT / ACCA, Andover, Hampshire to £32,000 (Hybrid) 30hrs, Fixed term 12 months
This is a great role for a Part Time Accountant to join an exciting Software company, and to be part of their growth journey. They are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented part-time Accountant (30h per week) on a 12-month contract, with potential for extension. The Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial management, supporting internal teams, and contributing to a well-functioning finance operation that aligns with commitment to exceptional service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day finance operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger, including accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments and expense claims, and maintaining strong underlying records and reconciliations.
• Prepare and support month-end reporting requirements, including management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy, completeness and alignment with internal controls and best practice.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by compiling inputs, preparing supporting analysis, and helping maintain key assumptions and working files.
• Support audit and year-end processes by responding to audit requests, providing clear supporting documentation, and helping ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines.
• Prepare and coordinate tax filings and returns (or support external advisers) by gathering required information, maintaining documentation, and ensuring lodgements are completed on time and in line with relevant regulations.
• Facilitate and support payroll processes by reviewing payroll inputs/outputs, coordinating with payroll providers, resolving queries, and helping ensure staff are paid accurately and on time.
• Actively support accounting system change including assisting with data validation and reconciliation between legacy and new systems.
Essential Skills and Experience
• Proven experience in an accounting role, preferably within software, technology, education or professional services sectors.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting software and good proficiency in Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams.
Desirable Qualifications
• AAT, ACCA, CIMA part-qualified or fully qualified (or equivalent).
• Experience in subscription-based, SaaS or multi-product environments.
• Familiarity with financial elements of MIS or school administration systems.
• Is proactive in identifying improvements to finance processes and contributes positively to a collaborative team environment
