Salary: £25,323 - £32,134 (dependent on skills and experience)
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, motivated and enthusiastic Instructor of Outdoor Education who has vision, can take initiative and can contribute to the provision of curriculum based and extra-curricular outdoor education through the school’s outdoor education department.
The provision of outdoor education is part of the founding ethos at Magdalen Court School with an aim to allow pupils to develop social and life skills through the medium of outdoor adventure. It provides forward thinking, current and innovative outdoor learning.
We are looking for someone who can operate within the school and outdoor education safety policy, keep up to date with all aspects of activity/qualification development and CPD.
Our Adventure curriculum is child led, aiming to allow children to undertake real challenges and risks, to manage and assess danger, learn to self-regulate, organise, build social and emotional skills and perseverance, improve mental health, immerse themselves in a non-competitive environment, to follow nature's calendar and most of all to have fun.
We aim to engage all the senses. The children will experience a plethora of natural habitats from the wild Atlantic coast to the sheltered beaches on the South Coast, and from the open moorland to broadleaf and coniferous forests. Our programme is full and varied and includes activities from rock pooling to rock climbing, wild swimming to SUP’ing, sailing, walking and forest school activities.
Closing date: Friday 9th of January 2026 at midday
A full induction programme and opportunities for professional development will be provided.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
