The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a highly regarded Adult Social Care Complex & Sensory Team in West London.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with adults who have physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and complex needs, supporting them to maximise independence and achieve positive outcomes through specialist Occupational Therapy interventions.
You will manage a varied caseload, undertaking assessments and recommending equipment, adaptations, and practical solutions to enable individuals to live safely and independently within their homes and communities.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake Occupational Therapy assessments for adults with complex physical disabilities and sensory needs.
Complete complex moving and handling assessments and develop appropriate intervention plans.
Assess and recommend major and minor adaptations to support independent living.
Prescribe specialist equipment and assistive technology solutions.
Prepare reports and recommendations relating to housing adaptations and Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs).
Work collaboratively with service users, carers, families, housing providers, healthcare professionals, and partner agencies.
Maintain accurate case records and assessment documentation.
Participate in duty cover and respond to urgent referrals where required.
Promote independence, wellbeing, and person-centred outcomes.
Essential Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
Current HCPC Registration.
Experience working within Adult Social Care.
Experience undertaking complex moving and handling assessments.
Experience recommending and implementing major adaptations.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, Occupational Therapy practice standards, and safeguarding responsibilities.
Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
