Realistic Earnings Examples
Based on 5 hours overtime per week:
£28,000 basic salary = Approx. £33,250 annual earnings
£34,000 basic salary = Approx. £40,375 annual earnings
Based on 10 hours overtime per week:
£28,000 basic salary = Approx. £38,500 annual earnings
£34,000 basic salary = Approx. £46,750 annual earnings
Additional call-out retainers and paid travel time can further increase earnings.
The Role
As an Agricultural Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of agricultural machinery, ensuring customers receive the highest level of support and equipment uptime.
Key Responsibilities
Service, maintain and repair agricultural machinery including tractors, combines, balers, telehandlers and associated equipment
Attend customer sites to diagnose and resolve breakdowns
Carry out mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding
Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections
Complete service reports and documentation accurately
Provide technical support and advice to customers
Work independently in the field while liaising with the service team to ensure the best outcome for customers
Requirements
Previous experience working on agricultural machinery, plant equipment, construction machinery, forklifts, commercial vehicles, HGVs, or similar heavy equipment
Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills
Experience working on engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrical systems
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Engineering qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent are advantageous
Full UK Driving Licence
