Job Title: MEP Construction Manager (Electrical Bias)
Location: Harker Substation, Rockcliffe, Carlisle (CA6)
Rate: £500–£550 per day (CIS/Umbrella)
Start Date: ASAP (flexible for notice periods)
Duration: 6 months with potential extension for the right candidates)
Hours: 40 hours per week (08:00 – 17:00, Monday–Friday)
Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Manager (Electrical Bias) to join a major infrastructure project based at Harker Substation near Carlisle. This is a key role on a large-scale project with an overall value of circa £350m, including significant M&E works.
You will be responsible for managing the interface between construction and design teams, coordinating across multiple disciplines, and overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of all MEP building services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage construction activities across electrical and MEP building services
* Act as the key interface between design and construction teams
* Oversee subcontractor performance and coordination
* Manage programme delivery, quality assurance, and compliance
* Lead installation, testing, and commissioning processes
* Ensure smooth integration across all project disciplines
* Utilise document control systems (e.g. Aconex / ProjectWise)
Project Scope Includes:
* General building services (electrical & small power)
* LV mains and sub-distribution
* Air conditioning and ventilation systems (MVHR)
* Public health installations
* Fire detection and fire hydrant systems
* BMS systems
* Telephony and LAN infrastructure
Requirements:
* ECS Electrical Site Manager Card / CSCS / SMSTS
* City & Guilds Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
* Testing & Inspection qualifications
* Strong background in construction/project management
* Experience within industrial or commercial projects
* Working knowledge of mechanical systems (desirable)
* Familiarity with document control systems (Aconex, ProjectWise or similar)
