Are you a recent Maths graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in education while making a real difference to young people's lives?
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role is ideal for graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or specialist educational support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide academic support in Mathematics to students with additional learning needs.
Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to improve numeracy skills and mathematical confidence.
Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging and accessible maths lessons.
Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of individual students.
Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving their academic goals.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Promote positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support student development.
Essential Skills and Qualities
A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related subject.
Strong mathematical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine passion for education and supporting students with SEN.
Patience, empathy, and resilience.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to motivate and engage students with varying learning needs.
A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a graduate with a strong academic background in mathematics and a desire to support young people in reaching their potential. Previous experience working with children or individuals with SEN is advantageous but not essential.
