Managing Accountant - Construction Business
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000
Location: Fareham, Portsmouth
About the company:
With offices in Fareham, as well as in and around London, this business is part of a larger group, which has a total turnover of £300 million per annum. As a business, each division offers specialist construction solutions to a variety of top developers, main contractors, and clients across the UK.
With two original owners at the top of the group, each business unit maintains its own directors and operational teams. But as part of a group, they work on common projects with the focused goal of being one of the best for quality, standards, and innovation across the sector. I’ve known a variety of the directors of this business for well over a decade and can testify to them standing out as an amazing business.
This position is available immediately.
About the opportunity:
We have been tasked with finding a Managing Accountant to be based in Fareham, overseeing two divisions of this groups organisations. Reporting to the FD, it’ll be your responsibility to handle everything from month end reporting, through to management accounts and preparing the management information pack for the board. Coins system experience is beneficial as that is what our client uses, but this isn’t essential. Hours are 8am to 5pm, with an hour for lunch and some flex regarding being able to start or finish earlier. Additional development will be available to those seeking it, as our client strongly believes of people having career plans and the chance to evolve.
About the benefits & rewards:
The base package for the right individual is negotiable, but we are estimating this to be circa £40,000 to £60,000 per annum, depending on the level of your previous experience. Full benefits such as pension, travel allowance and bonuses will also be available. The company’s ambition is to bring an individual into the organisation who will become a valued member of the long-term team.
About the requirements:
Due to the nature of the role, I am looking to speak with individuals who have previously held managing accountant roles or similar before. Qualifications such as CIMA or ACCA may have been gained, but a minimum of 5 years of accountancy experience is a must, as well as the ability to show previous roles where you have completed the explained tasks before. I am also ideally looking for someone who has worked for a similar construction business, but this is not a must, if good experience can be shown within a similar environment. And if you have Coins experience, that will be a massive plus.
How to Apply:
I am more than happy to discuss this opportunity with people over the phone or face-to-face in a fully confidential manner. This is an incestuous sector and I fully understand the importance of keeping things discrete.
It would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR, nothing will be done with your CV/details until we have discussed the role in detail, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to talk and discuss the option.
