We’re looking for an ACA-qualified Management Accountant to join a well-established business in South Buckinghamshire.
Working as part of a small finance team, this is a varied and hands-on role covering management accounts, statutory reporting, cashflow, budgeting and wider financial analysis. It would suit someone with previous management accounts experience or an ACA-qualified accountant looking to make their first move from practice into a commercial, in-house environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant:
* Prepare monthly management accounts from trial balance, including accruals, prepayments, WIP, loan accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and other month-end adjustments.
* Produce P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting, together with detailed variance analysis across margins, overheads and other key financial areas.
* Prepare statutory accounts, corporation tax information and regulatory returns, liaising with auditors and external advisers where required.
* Prepare short-term cashflow forecasts, annual budgets and financial information to support wider business planning and funding requirements.
* Review financial provisions, reserves, cashbooks and accounts across a number of entities within the wider business.
* Work closely with purchase ledger and accounts payable colleagues on supplier accounts, payments, queries and reconciliations.
* Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management, support cost-efficiency initiatives and assist with ad hoc finance and wider business projects.
Key Requirements of the Management Accountant:
* ACA qualified, with previous management accounts experience.
* Candidates currently working within accountancy practice and looking to make their first move into industry will be considered.
* Strong knowledge of management accounts, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate financial information and explain findings clearly.
* Good Excel skills and experience using accounting or ERP systems.
* Well organised, commercially aware and confident communicating with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
* Must be happy working five days per week from the office and live within a reasonable commuting distance of South Buckinghamshire.
This is a permanent opportunity to join an established business in a broad finance position with exposure across management reporting, statutory accounts, cashflow, budgeting and commercial financial analysis
