As Management Accountant reporting to the Financial Director, the candidate will assist in the preparation of consolidated management accounts, financial analysis and reporting for 33 entities.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
* Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements
* Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance
* Assist in the preparation of board and management reports
* Assist in development of financial models to support strategic decision-making
* All aspects of payroll
Budgeting & Forecasting
* Assist with annual budget preparation and periodic re-forecasting
* Monitor actual versus budget performance
* Work closely with department heads to provide financial guidance and support cost control
Cost Control & Process Improvement
* Conduct profitability and cost analysis to identify savings opportunities
* Support process automation and efficiency improvements within the finance department
* Assist in reviewing and improving internal controls and financial procedures
* Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
* Statutory filings with companies house, ensuring filing dates are met
* Ensuring HMRC filings are filed in a timely manner
* Ensure pension filings are filed in a timely manner
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
* Studying towards a professional qualification, ideally finalist level (ACCA, CIMA)
* Experience in management accounting, within the housing sector an advantage
* Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills
