Management Accountant
Temp – 3 months
Location: Stoke on Trent
Hours: 20 hours per week ( flexible days/hours across the week)
Hourly rate £26 - £32/hr (DOE)

The Role
Our client is seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to support the finance function through accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. The role will work closely with operational and senior stakeholders, providing timely management information to support informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and variance analysis
* Production of budgets, forecasts, and cashflow reporting
* Analysis of financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
* Business partnering with non-finance stakeholders to support operational decision-making
* Balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close activities
* Support year-end accounts and audit processes
* Cost control and margin analysis
* Continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting
* Ad-hoc financial analysis and project support as required
* Cash management
* Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
* Strong understanding of management accounting principles
* Demonstrable experience working with stock based trading companies
* Familiar with Sage 200 and Quickbooks
* Had oversight on the implementation of financial and IT system integration
* Experience producing monthly management accounts
* Part-qualified or qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
* Strong Excel skills; experience with accounting/ERP systems including Sage / QuickBooks
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
* Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
