About the Role
Cover People are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Health & Social Care Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream secondary school from September 2026 until Easter 2027.
This is an excellent opportunity to teach Health & Social Care at Level 1 and Level 2, delivering engaging vocational learning that helps students develop their understanding of health, wellbeing and care provision. The school is seeking a teacher who can inspire learners, maintain high expectations and contribute positively to a successful department.
ECTs will benefit from a supportive induction and mentoring programme, while experienced teachers will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact within an established team.
M1–M6 Teachers will be paid to scale from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality Health & Social Care lessons across Key Stage 4 (Level 1 & Level 2)
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with curriculum and qualification requirements
Monitor, assess and track student progress effectively
Support students in achieving positive outcomes in both coursework and examinations
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Support the academic, personal and social development of students
Contribute positively to departmental planning and wider school initiatives
Requirements
QTS or equivalent UK teaching qualification
Experience teaching Health & Social Care at secondary or post-16 level
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Knowledge of vocational qualifications and assessment requirements
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A commitment to raising achievement and supporting student progress
Right to work in the UK
