Java 8 Software Engineer | £500 – £550 | Inside IR35 | 6 Months | Hybrid Remote
 
We’re recruiting for experienced Java Engineers with strong experience working with Legacy Java versions (Ideally Java 8). This 6-Month contract is determined as Inside IR35 and is offered on a Hybrid remote basis requiring 1/2 days per week of onsite work in Swindon or London.
 
Key Requirements

Strong commercial experience with Java 8 or similar legacy Java frameworks
Solid skills in SQL, Spring Boot, and Hibernate development practices
Proven ability to build microservices and reliable RESTful APIs
Hands‑on experience applying TDD and BDD testing approaches
Good understanding of clean coding principles, SOLID, and cloud technologies
Previous experience in the Finance/Fintech Industry is beneficial Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and thoroughly test new enhancements across the platform
Lead feature development from initial concept through to final delivery
Produce high‑quality software that consistently meets performance expectations
Resolve technical issues promptly to ensure continued platform stability
Contribute ideas that evolve and improve the overall product architectureWhat to do next
