Indirect Procurement Manager

The Opportunity

Our client is an established Fresh Produce importer and grower , known for their unwavering commitment to quality and their long-standing partnerships.
This Indirect Procurement Manager will be integral in managing their indirect procurement function, which includes energy, services, equipment, packaging and other items essential for business operations. You will also be responsible for leading and managing the Purchasing Policy, ensuring compliance and delivering cost-efficient purchasing strategies aligned with the company’s goals. .
The Role:
* Indirect Procurement Management: Take ownership of the procurement process for indirect spend categories (e.g. energy, facilities, IT, packaging, transport, and other services), ensuring cost efficiency, value for money, and supplier performance.
* Category Spend Analysis: Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across high-spend categories by analysing spend data and supplier markets.
* Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing performance, and ensuring the best terms for the company.
* Land Management – taking ownership of all land management tasks within the business. Liaising with both Planning and Estate advisors to ensure TSBC are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
* ESOS Reporting – Liasing with third party consultant to ensure TSBC remain compliant under the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme.
Experience
* Proven experience in an indirect procurement role, ideally within the agriculture, FMCG, or manufacturing sectors. Experience managing large-spend categories is essential.
* Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial awareness with experience in cost-saving initiatives and the ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers.
* Project Management: Experience in managing multiple projects and driving process improvements across indirect procurement categories.
* Compliance & Policy Management: Demonstrated ability to lead and enforce purchasing policies and processes within a growing business.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build strong working relationships both internally and externally.
* Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis and reporting skills to track spend, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favourable terms and supplier agreements.
* Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring procurement aligns with broader business goals.
