Part-Time HLTA – Primary School (York)
Start: September | 3 days per week (flexible up to full-time)
A well-established and welcoming primary school in York is looking to bring in a confident and capable HLTA from September.
This is a larger-than-average primary setting, with a number of year groups running as two-form entry. There’s a strong sense of structure across the school, supportive leadership, and a team that genuinely works together.
The role itself is varied, no two days will feel the same. You’ll be covering PPA across different year groups, supporting pupils with additional needs, and stepping in where needed to keep things running smoothly.
It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys being flexible, building relationships across the school, and having that bit of autonomy in the role.
The role will include:
*
Covering PPA across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
*
Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis
*
Delivering planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
*
Working closely with teaching staff to maintain consistency and routine
*
General HLTA responsibilities across the school
The school are looking for someone who:
*
Has HLTA status or strong equivalent experience
*
Is confident leading a class when required
*
Builds positive relationships quickly with both pupils and staff
*
Brings a calm, steady presence to the classroom
*
Is adaptable and happy working across different year groups
The role is advertised as 3 days per week, though there are options for full-time hours for the right person if it is preferred.
There’s a really nice feel to this school — well organised, good support in place, and a team that values people who come in and get stuck in.
Right Education
We’ll take the time to understand what you’re looking for and make sure the role fits you, not the other way around.
You’ll have consistent contact, honest conversations, and proper support from start to finish
