Due to continued growth, we are looking for experienced, compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistants in Maidstone and the surrounding areas to join our flexible agency team.
As an Onpoint Care Healthcare Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of healthcare and social care settings, including residential care homes, nursing homes and other care services, providing high-quality, person-centred care to the people you support.
We are looking for Healthcare Assistants who take pride in delivering excellent standards of care and understand the importance of promoting dignity, choice, independence and wellbeing at all times.
Your Role
Depending on the service and individual care needs, your responsibilities may include:
Supporting individuals with personal care, including washing, dressing, continence care and toileting
Supporting individuals with mobility, transfers and safe moving and handling
Supporting with meals, drinks and hydration
Providing assistance and reassurance to individuals living with dementia
Supporting individuals with their daily routines while promoting independence and choice
Observing individuals' wellbeing and reporting any concerns or changes appropriately
Following individual care plans, risk assessments and service procedures
Maintaining accurate and professional care records
Providing companionship, reassurance and emotional support
Working effectively alongside permanent staff and other healthcare professionals
Maintaining dignity, privacy, confidentiality and professional boundaries
Following infection prevention and control procedures and maintaining high standards of care
What We're Looking For
We are looking for Healthcare Assistants who are:
Compassionate, caring and committed to providing person-centred care
Reliable and punctual, with a professional approach to their work
Confident providing personal and continence care
Experienced in supporting older people and individuals with a range of care needs
Comfortable supporting individuals living with dementia
Confident with moving and handling and the use of appropriate equipment where trained and competent
Good communicators who understand the importance of confidentiality and accurate record keeping
Observant and able to recognise and report changes in an individual's wellbeing
Able to follow care plans, risk assessments, policies and procedures
Adaptable and confident working within different care environments
Able to work independently and as part of a wider care team
Respectful of each individual's dignity, choices, preferences and independence
Qualifications & Requirements
To join our team, you will need:
A minimum of 3 months' recent UK experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Care Assistant
Willingness to complete our induction and all required mandatory training
Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
An Enhanced DBS and satisfactory employment references
The Right to Work in the UK
The ability to travel reliably to your allocated shifts
