Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a specialist primary school in Hyde that supports pupils aged 4-11 with complex needs. We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Health & Social Care Graduates who are looking to gain valuable experience supporting children with a range of additional needs in a highly rewarding educational setting.
This role is ideal for graduates considering careers in education, SEND, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology, or healthcare.
The Role
As a Health & Social Care Graduate, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to help pupils access learning and develop independence.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils aged 4-11 with complex learning, physical, communication, and sensory needs
Assisting with personal care and medical needs where required
Helping pupils engage in classroom activities through tailored support
Promoting communication, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing
Supporting sensory integration and regulation strategies
Working alongside speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals
Encouraging independence and celebrating individual achievements
Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff
Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
A degree in Health & Social Care or a related subject
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
A patient, caring, and resilient approach
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to adapt to the individual needs of each pupil
Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential
A willingness to support personal care as part of the role
