The Role

An exciting opportunity for a Head Office Accountant to join a successful, fast-growing group. This varied, hands-on role will take ownership of head office accounting, management accounts and financial controls, working closely with senior leadership. Flexible working is available, making this an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant seeking a balanced role with broad responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly management accounts, reporting packs, variance analysis and commentary on expenditure against budgets and forecasts.
Maintain accurate balance sheets, trial balances and intercompany accounts, including reconciliations across multiple holding companies.
Prepare VAT returns and oversee financial compliance, including payroll reconciliations, P11Ds and PSA returns.
Manage annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and weekly cash flow forecasts, supporting wider group cash planning.
Oversee head office banking, payments, expenses, quarterly intercompany recharges and pension administration.
Support year-end accounts, audit and tax compliance, statutory records and ongoing process improvements.

Requirements

Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or part-qualified accountant with solid practical accounting experience; study support may be available.
Experience preparing management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end journals.
Practical VAT experience and a good understanding of financial controls and HMRC compliance.
Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
Confident communicator, comfortable working with senior stakeholders and handling confidential information.
Head office or group accounting experience, including intercompany transactions, is advantageous; SAP experience is beneficial but not essential
