About the Role
As our Head Chef, you'll play a pivotal role in planning and preparing menus that cater to the nutritional needs, preferences, and special dietary requirements of our elderly residents. You'll lead a small, dedicated kitchen team, ensuring every meal is prepared safely, hygienically, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and cook wholesome, balanced meals for residents, including those with specific dietary needs (soft or texture-modified diets)
Lead, train, and inspire your kitchen team to deliver consistent, high-quality food
Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, safety, and health regulations
Manage kitchen stock, ordering, and budgeting to minimise waste while maintaining quality
Collaborate with care staff to meet residents' individual dietary requirements and preferences
Organise themed meals and special events to enhance resident wellbeing and engagement About You
Proven experience as a Head Chef, ideally with experience in care, healthcare, or hospitality
Knowledge of nutrition for older adults and dietary adaptations (desirable but not essential - training can be provided)
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
Passionate about delivering excellent food while improving the lives of residents
