Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading independent planning consultancy in the appointment of a Graduate Town Planner to join their growing Cheltenham team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Planning graduate to kick-start their career with a highly regarded consultancy, working alongside experienced planning professionals on a wide variety of exciting projects across Scotland and the UK.

You'll gain exposure to residential, commercial, mixed-use, renewable energy and strategic land projects while receiving structured training, mentorship and full support towards achieving RTPI Chartership.

The Role

As a Graduate Town Planner, you will work closely with senior members of the team, assisting in the delivery of planning advice and applications across a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals.
Undertaking planning policy and site research.
Preparing planning appraisals and supporting reports.
Liaising with local authorities, clients and key stakeholders.
Supporting senior planners on a range of development projects.
Attending client meetings, site visits and public consultations.
Keeping up to date with planning legislation and policy changes.About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

A degree or Master's in Town Planning or a related discipline accredited by the RTPI.
A genuine enthusiasm for planning and development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
A full UK driving licence would be advantageous but is not essential.The Opportunity
