Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools

Location: Brent, North West London (and surrounding boroughs)
Start Date: ASAP (rolling applications)
Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term
Pay: £90–£105 per day (depending on experience)

We are looking for enthusiastic graduates who want to gain hands-on experience in primary schools across Brent. This role is perfect for anyone considering a career in education, youth work, psychology, or other people-focused fields, or for those who want valuable school-based experience before pursuing their own path.

Graduate Teaching Assistants will support classroom learning, help deliver targeted interventions, and work closely with teachers to ensure pupils thrive. This may involve small group booster sessions, 1:1 SEN support, behaviour mentoring, or supporting pupils’ social-emotional development, depending on your skills and interests.

The Role:

Assist teachers in the classroom across EYFS to KS2

*

Deliver 1:1 or small group interventions in literacy, numeracy, or other subject areas

*

Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN or emotional/behavioural challenges

*

Help prepare lessons, resources, and classroom activities

*

Promote engagement, positive behaviour, and pupil independence

*

Gain practical experience in school life and contribute to pupil development

The Ideal Candidate:

A graduate from any discipline with a genuine interest in working with children

*

Enthusiastic, adaptable, and proactive in supporting learning

*

Confident communicating with pupils of different abilities and needs

*

Open to flexible supply or long-term placements, with potential permanent opportunities

*

Passionate about education or working with children, though previous school experience is not essential
