The Role – Graduate Teaching Assistant
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support primary-aged pupils with their learning and development across the curriculum. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support in core subjects, including English and Maths, helping pupils strengthen their understanding, build confidence and make progress in their learning. You will assist with classroom activities, encourage active participation and provide additional support to pupils who may need help accessing the curriculum.
The role will also involve supporting positive behaviour, encouraging pupils' social development and helping to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, patient and proactive, with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children. Previous experience working with children through schools, tutoring, coaching or similar settings would be advantageous, although graduates with the right attitude and a genuine passion for education will also be considered.
This position is ideal for a graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing teacher training or a long-term career in primary education.
