Long Term Futures is working with a Wandsworth based school to recruit a Teaching Assistant. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate specialising in English or Humanities to gain invaluable classroom experience.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting students' academic progress and engagement across the curriculum. This is a long-term contract designed for those looking to build a career in education and potentially progress into teacher training.
Responsibilities
Providing targeted academic support to students within the English or Humanities departments.
Leading small group interventions to boost literacy and subject-specific understanding.
Assisting the class teacher in managing classroom dynamics and preparing learning materials.
Supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring an inclusive environment.
Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Essential Candidate Requirements
A degree in English or a Humanities subject (e.g., History, Geography, Philosophy).
A genuine passion for education and supporting the development of young people.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
Previous experience in a school or youth-work setting is advantageous but not essential.
A proactive, "can-do" attitude and a willingness to learn.
