This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering graduate looking to build a career within civil engineering and water utilities, gaining hands-on site experience while working alongside experienced Site Engineers, Site Managers and Supervisors.
You will play an important role in supporting the technical delivery of essential water infrastructure projects, developing your setting-out, surveying and engineering skills while learning how projects are delivered safely, accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with setting out and surveying activities across water infrastructure and mains renewal projects.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction information.
Support Site Engineers and Site Managers with day-to-day technical and engineering duties.
Monitor construction activities to ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings and project specifications.
Assist with quality inspections, testing and maintaining accurate site records.
Help identify technical issues, discrepancies and potential delays.
Liaise with site teams, subcontractors and project management to support project delivery.
Ensure all activities comply with health and safety procedures and site requirements.
Develop an understanding of construction methods, quality assurance and site management processes. About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:
A degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
A genuine interest in developing a career within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure.
A basic understanding of engineering drawings, surveying and setting-out principles.
Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced engineers.
The ability to work effectively as part of a site-based team.
A full UK driving licence or willingness to travel between project sites would be advantageous. Previous site experience, a placement year or an industrial placement within civil engineering or utilities would be beneficial but is not essential.
An interest in water infrastructure, clean water networks and mains renewal projects would be particularly advantageous.

Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
Permanent employment with an established utilities contractor.
Hands-on training and development from experienced engineering professionals.
