Graduate SEMH Support - PRUs & Alternative Provision

Not every classroom looks the same.
Not every student has had a fair start.
And not every graduate role makes a difference from day one.

This opportunity is for graduates who want meaningful, hands-on experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and Alternative Provision (AP) settings.

You will work with students who have experienced exclusion, trauma, or disruption - young people who need positive role models, structure, and belief, not labels.

This is an ideal role if you are considering a future in:

Teaching or SEN education

Educational psychology

Social work, youth work, or mental health services

Behaviour support or pastoral leadership

What You Will Gain:

Frontline experience supporting students with complex SEMH needs

Practical skills in behaviour management, emotional regulation, and trauma-informed practice

Mentorship from experienced teachers and SEN professionals

Insight into how alternative education settings operate day to day

A strong foundation for PGCEs, MSc Psychology routes, or public-sector careers

Your Role:

Supporting students one-to-one and in small groups

Helping young people re-engage with learning and routines

Building trusted relationships that encourage progress and self-belief

Working alongside staff to create safe, structured learning environments

Who This Role Is For:

Graduates with a genuine interest in working with young people

Calm, resilient individuals who can build rapport and set boundaries

Those seeking purposeful experience, not just "a job"

No previous SEMH experience required - training and support provided

Why Join Us:

A stepping stone into education, psychology, or mental health careers

Supportive teams who invest in your development

Opportunities for long-term placements and progression

Competitive graduate-level pay

If you want your first role to mean something, and you are motivated by impact rather than routine, this is your opportunity to begin a career that matters
