Graduate roles in schools - future Teacher
Ponteland
Want to get real classroom experience before jumping into teacher training? Thinking about becoming a Teacher?
We’re working with a welcoming secondary school in Northumberland, right on the edge of Newcastle, looking for graduates to join their team as Cover Supervisors on an ad hoc basis.
It’s a brilliant way to test the waters in education, build confidence in the classroom, and see what school life is really like, without the full responsibility of teaching straight away.
And the best bit? You won’t be thrown in at the deep end. You’ll have the chance to shadow experienced Cover Supervisors for a day first, so you can see how things run before taking the lead yourself.
What does a Cover Supervisor do?
Think of yourself as the calm, confident presence in the room when a teacher is away.
Deliver pre-set lessons across different subjects
Keep students focused and on task
Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
Support pupils with the work left by their teacher
No planning required, just strong communication, organisation, and a bit of confidence.
