We are seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor who wants more than just a desk-based role. This is an opportunity to gain real, practical commercial experience within masonry packages across live construction projects.
You won’t be observing from a distance — you’ll be actively involved in protecting and improving the commercial health of our projects from day one.
This role is about developing genuine expertise: understanding material procurement, labour output, contract requirements, and how all three interact to drive profitability on site.
The Role:
Technical Mastery & Site Visibility
Working directly alongside our Commercial Managers, you will gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle.
Precision Measurement
Producing detailed take-offs from architectural drawings
Developing accuracy and speed in quantification
Site-Based Learning
Regular site visits across the North West
Verifying progress against applications
Managing variations in real time
Ensuring commercial records reflect physical build progress
Commercial Exposure
Assisting with subcontractor valuations
Procuring specialist masonry materials
Supporting monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
Monitoring labour and material cost performance
Workforce & Payroll Management
Managing bricklayers’ wages and weekly payroll
Tracking site productivity
Verifying “price work” (piecework) claims
Ensuring labour costs align with measured progress
Relationship Management
Coordinating with site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
Supporting smooth commercial communication across projects
Your progression path:
Graduate QS – Mastering take-offs and commercial fundamentals
Assistant QS – Taking ownership of smaller packages or sites
Quantity Surveyor – Managing your own multi-million-pound projects
Senior Surveyor – Strategic commercial leadership and mentoring

The Candidate
Education
Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (2:1 preferred)
Strong 2:2 with practical experience considered
