Assistant Town Planner - Bristol

I'm currently working with a well-established and forward-thinking planning and environmental consultancy that is looking to expand its team with the addition of an Assistant Town Planner in their Bristol office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career planner to join a collaborative and supportive environment, where you'll gain exposure to a diverse range of projects across sectors including residential, commercial, infrastructure, and environmental planning.
The Role
As an Assistant Town Planner, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of planning projects from initial feasibility through to application and appeal stages. You'll be working closely with experienced planners and multidisciplinary teams, giving you fantastic scope to develop your technical skills and professional career.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting in the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
Undertaking site appraisals and planning research
Supporting the production of planning statements and reports
Liaising with local authorities, clients, and stakeholders
Monitoring planning policy changes and contributing to project strategy
About You
Degree (or equivalent) in Town Planning or a related discipline
Working towards (or interest in pursuing) MRTPI accreditation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A proactive and detail-oriented approach
Previous experience in a planning role (public or private sector) is advantageous
