Echelon Engineers is recruiting on behalf of a client, an established UK manufacturer that designs and builds bespoke machinery in-house for a range of industrial sectors.
The Role
This is a hands-on graduate role for someone who wants more than producing drawings. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and see your designs go through the full process, from concept and 3D CAD to manufacture, assembly, testing and installation. As you gain experience, you’ll take on your own projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop bespoke production machinery and equipment
* Produce 3D CAD models, assemblies, detailed drawings and bills of materials (BOMs)
* Turn customer requirements into practical, manufacturable designs
* Work closely with manufacturing and assembly teams, and support build, testing and commissioning
* Help improve existing machines, with attention to safety and relevant standards
Essential
* Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
* Some 3D CAD experience, from university, a placement or projects
* Sound grasp of mechanical engineering principles and engineering drawings
* Practical problem-solver, a good communicator and keen to get hands-on
Desirable
* Interest in automation, PLCs, pneumatics or machine controls
* SolidWorks, Creo or AutoCAD experience
* Industrial placement in a machinery or manufacturing environment
What’s on Offer
* Mentoring from experienced engineers
* Varied, bespoke projects rather than repetitive design work
* Exposure to mechanical design, pneumatics, automation and controls
* A clear path to becoming a design engineer with real project responsibility
If you’re curious and practical, and want to understand the whole machine rather than just the CAD model, apply now through Echelon Engineers
