An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineering graduate to join a globally recognised organisation within the lifting equipment industry.

This is a unique role that combines technical research, engineering analysis and problem-solving. You'll be responsible for investigating challenges facing the lifting industry, including changes in legislation, regulations and emerging technologies. Through detailed research and technical investigation, you'll help identify solutions, develop industry guidance and contribute to product and service innovation.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll be involved in troubleshooting technical issues, reviewing engineering documentation and supporting projects that have a real impact on industry best practice worldwide.

This role is particularly suited to someone with an interest in engineering-led product design, innovation and developing practical solutions to real-world challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Research industry legislation, standards and technical developments.
Investigate engineering and operational challenges within the lifting industry.
Support technical problem-solving and troubleshooting activities.
Review technical reports, publications and engineering documentation.
Prepare reports, presentations and recommendations.
Collaborate with industry experts, manufacturers and stakeholders.
Support UK and international technical projects.
Identify opportunities for innovation and product development.

What You'll Need

Mechanical Engineering degree (minimum 2:1).
Industrial placement year completed as part of your degree.
Strong analytical and research skills.
A genuine interest in engineering problem-solving and technical investigation.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work from the Huntingdon office 2-3 days per week.

Desirable

Dissertation based on a practical engineering project linked to your placement experience.
Interest or experience in product design and development.
AMIMechE membership or working towards professional accreditation.
Experience of practical engineering projects involving design, testing or innovation.
