Are you a recent Engineering or Science graduate looking to kick start your career?!

We’re recruiting for a growing engineering business looking for a bright, practical and curious Graduate Engineer to join a small, supportive technical team.

Working within a mechanical engineering laboratory environment, you’ll get involved in testing, development work, prototypes, problem-solving and engineering projects – making this a brilliant opportunity to build genuine practical experience at the start of your career.

What you'll be doing

* Carrying out practical testing and inspection of components and engineering processes

* Setting up and using laboratory and test equipment

* Recording results and preparing clear test documentation

* Reviewing and analysing test data

* Building and modifying prototype samples for development work

* Supporting Engineers with development and improvement projects

* Getting involved in troubleshooting and practical problem-solving

* Assisting with engineering trials and validation activities

* Helping to keep the engineering laboratory organised, safe and well maintained

* Working with different teams across the business to support technical projects

What we're looking for

* A degree, HNC/HND or similar qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics or another relevant discipline

* A genuinely hands-on, practical approach to engineering

* Good mechanical aptitude and an interest in understanding how things work

* Confidence working with data and basic numerical/statistical information

* Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Organised, methodical and able to work accurately

* Someone who enjoys solving problems and learning new things

Previous industry experience isn't essential. This could suit a recent graduate looking for their first proper engineering opportunity, although candidates with some experience gained through a placement, internship, laboratory, manufacturing, testing or technical environment would also be very welcome.

Why consider this opportunity?

* Excellent opportunity to gain real-world engineering experience

* Varied role combining practical work, testing, data and problem-solving

* Hands-on exposure to engineering development projects

* Work alongside experienced technical and engineering professionals

* Supportive, friendly and collaborative team environment

* Opportunity to develop your technical knowledge quickly

* Ideal stepping stone for someone looking to build a career within mechanical, test, development or R&D engineering

* 12-month fixed-term contract offering valuable industry experience

If you're an engineering graduate who wants to learn, get stuck in and build practical experience in a professional engineering environment, we'd love to hear from you
