PK Education are recruiting Graduate Cover Supervisors to work within secondary schools across Rotherham.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on classroom experience before committing to teacher training.
You Don't Need to Be a Qualified Teacher!
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll take responsibility for supervising secondary school classes when their usual teacher is absent.
The work will already be planned, so you won't be expected to create lessons from scratch. Instead, you'll explain activities, manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain focused on their learning.
What Does the Role Involve?
Supervising students across KS3 and KS4
Delivering instructions for pre-planned classroom activities
Developing your confidence managing a classroom
Supporting students with their work
Building positive relationships with students and school staff
Gaining experience across different subjects and year groups
Following school behaviour and safeguarding policies
Who Would This Suit?
University graduates considering a PGCE
Psychology, Sociology, English, Maths and Science graduates
Sports Science and PE graduates
Aspiring secondary school teachers
Teaching Assistants looking to develop their careers
Individuals with experience coaching, mentoring or supporting young people
What We're Looking For:
A degree or relevant experience working with young people
Confidence communicating with secondary-aged students
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Strong organisational and behaviour management skills
Reliability and flexibility
An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
