GRADUATE BUYING ASSISTANT
Trafford Park, Manchester | Up to £29,000 | Full-time, office-based
Are you a commercially minded graduate who loves products, brands and understanding what makes customers buy?
Perhaps you've studied Business, Marketing, Economics or a related subject. Maybe you've gained experience in retail, eCommerce, running a small business or a commercial placement and are now looking to turn that interest into a career.
I'm recruiting for a growing consumer products business in Manchester, offering a fantastic opportunity to join its Buying team.
You don't need previous buying experience. What matters most is your curiosity, enthusiasm, attention to detail and willingness to get stuck in!
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working closely with an experienced Buying and Product team, you'll gain exposure to the full product journey, from initial research and sourcing through to launch.
Your responsibilities will include:
*
Researching products, competitors, market trends and pricing.
*
Supporting the development and launch of new product ranges.
*
Liaising with suppliers and coordinating samples, specifications and product information.
*
Maintaining accurate product data, pricing and critical path trackers.
*
Supporting the team with product performance analysis and identifying commercial opportunities.
*
Helping ensure products are ready for launch, with the right information, at the right time.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll develop a real understanding of how commercial buying decisions are made.
ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
We're particularly interested in hearing from recent graduates who can demonstrate:
*
A degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or another relevant discipline.
*
Genuine curiosity about products, brands, pricing and consumer behaviour.
*
Commercial awareness, whether developed through university, retail, eCommerce, work experience or personal projects.
*
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence working with Excel.
*
A proactive, enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.
*
Confidence communicating with different people and asking questions.
Perhaps you've run your own online shop, enjoyed analysing competitors as part of your degree, or found yourself naturally interested in why certain products sell better than others.
We'd love to hear about it!
We're also open to candidates with some existing experience as a Buying Admin Assistant or Assistant Buyer, particularly within consumer products or general merchandise.
ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client is an ambitious, growing consumer products business with an entrepreneurial culture and a collaborative Buying team.
You'll benefit from:
*
Hands-on training and exposure to experienced Buying professionals.
*
Genuine opportunities to develop your commercial and product knowledge.
*
A supportive, energetic team where ideas and initiative are encouraged.
*
A modern Trafford Park office with an on-site gym.
*
25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, healthcare and pension.
This is a fully office-based position, Monday to Friday, in Trafford Park, Manchester.
If you're looking for your first step into Buying, or your next move within a product-focused environment, I'd love to hear from you.
